I'm actually interfacing it to a device that does output serial at 3V,
so a level converter is a waste of time for me. The connector took a
week or so to arrive once I dug down to the right web site from the
Palm Plugged In site (pluggedin.palm.com). Not having to run a level
converter saves battery life in my case.

The attraction to me is essentially infinite memory for logging,
especially if you use an SDIO card!
