When I was at Kourou in 2005, there was a big push to get the satellite I 
was working on launched on time, as they were wanting to get 6 launches in 
within a year. I think they had hoped to get 6 inside 2005, but were 
settling back to get 6 inside 12 months, by having a launch in January 2006.

Got to have a visit to the building where they stick the satellite on top of 
the rocket. Most impressive stuff. Everyone wandering around with a personal 
respirator for emergency use. Although the main rocket wasn't fuelled, the 
satellites were, and whatever they load those with is quite toxic or 
dangerous.
