i am looking for a source for high quality digital audio components
(d/a, a/d, i/f, ...).

so far, I only found crystal (cirrus logic) as a manufacturer of such
components. are there others around?

I tried to get samples from cirrus logic, but they refused to send them
to me, as there is no big company behind and they "don't give samples to
anybody!".

they also didn't send me an offer to buy such components, as I told them
that I don't want to buy a few hundred of each part number, and don't
want to pay a 'fantasy price' for the few parts I need ($20/each instead
of the $2/each in the ad).

is there a source to buy only a few chips at a low price?

are there other manufactures with similar chips?
